Dustin Thomason shares why he doesn’t recommend people compare their financial health to others. He explains that people who realize they are doing worse than their peers might get discouraged to continue pursuing their financial goals. At the same time, someone seeing they are doing better than the average can get the impression they could be spending more, when in all reality the average might not be great to begin with. He therefore recommends everyone sets their own goals to work towards instead of comparing themselves to others.
